Overview

There are various ways to visually promote a product. For my visual style, I want to focus on 2D animation while making it look 3D and making visually appealing motion cuts.

Results

After sharing my work with my mentor, Topher Welsh, he said the project shows amazing motion fundamentals, along with doing a great job utilizing the shape of each object as a motion cut.

Storyboards

The original concept was to turn each bottle into another object, something that helps keep the viewer’s eye. My mentor, Topher Welsh, suggested that I alter the Pepsi bottle’s transition into a downward motion due to the height differences within the object.

Before moving to the animation, I created vector illustrations to make it easier to manipulate for transitions. While working on the animation, one concern was that people would confuse the drink for coffee; by adding bubble effects and a soda pouring sound effect, it evokes the message of a soda before revealing the Pepsi brand. Throughout the animation, there was testing with different effects to achieve a 3D look, ultimately. Using CC Reptile helps give the objects form when they’re spinning..
